Summary

Active member of the Resident Care Team, assisting the Resident Care Director with community management, supervising Resident Care Associates, monitoring emerging health needs, covering staffing as needed, handling on‑call duties, and following up on family issues as directed.

Essential Job Functions

Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co‑workers and the surrounding community.

Actively grow community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.

Assist with the evaluation of resident needs and the development and revision of service plans per state regulatory requirements.

Demonstrate understanding of pathophysiological and psychosocial changes associated with the aging process and disabilities.

Direct and supervise daily work assignments of resident care associates.

Evaluate residents' issues and medical concerns and discuss with the ED, family and MD as appropriate.

Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with all departments to eliminate/correct problem areas and improve services.

Monitor resident care assistants' compliance with infection control/sharps disposal program.

Participate in community marketing effort.

Participate in direct care of residents as needed.

Provide support to resident care associates regarding assignment questions or concerns as well as emergency situations.

Ensure required staffing and schedules (including backup coverage) are met at all times.

Ensure completion and review of incident/accident reports and implement changes through proper channels (e.g., Safety Committee) to minimize future issues; ensure proper communication with LCB Senior Living and state compliance reporting.

Assist the Resident Care Director with all documentation required by LCB Senior Living or the State Requirements.

With written physician orders, administer topical and oral medications as well as ear and eye drops (LMA in Massachusetts), administer injectables where allowed by regulation.

Other duties as requested.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment.
Visual and auditory acuity.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 lbs., carry objects, push and pull carts, continuously walk, sit and stand; turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below waist and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
Use good body mechanics.
Neat and well‑groomed; project a positive attitude.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Professional knowledge and skills necessary to assist in the planning for the Resident Care Department in accordance with the current state, federal and local standards to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing. May require lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
Education:

A high school diploma and graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
Experience:

At least two years of experience in a geriatric setting and previous health experience in hospital and/or community setting.
Certificates/Licenses:
Current RN or LPN License in the state you are employed.
