Food Service Worker​/Cashier; Part Time

Position Overview

• Part‑time Food Service Worker / Cashier – hiring immediately.
• Location:
  
  Westport Public Schools, 70 North Avenue, Westport, Connecticut 06880. Online applications only.
• Schedule:
  
  Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am – 2:00 pm (part‑time). More details upon interview.
• Requirements:
  Prior food service and cashier experience preferred; willing to train.
• Pay: $17.00 – $17.50 per hour.
• Internal employee referral bonus available.

Performs cashiering duties and general food service work while maintaining sanitation standards in preparation, service, and dining facilities.

• Prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting, and seeding fruits and vegetables; weigh and measure ingredients.
• Carry pans, kettles, trays; move food between stations, stove, and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Store foods in designated areas following wrapping, dating, and food‑safety rotation procedures.
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Use approved recipes and production standards to maintain proper quality, serving temperatures, and portion control.
• Serve customers friendly and efficiently, following service steps.
• Interact with customers, resolve complaints in a service‑oriented manner.
• Relay relevant information to supervisor.
• Perform sales transactions: enter sales, produce receipts, give change, accept cards and other payment forms.
• Follow procedures for issuing cash refunds.
• Manage change funds and cash drawer; ensure compliance with overage/shortage standards.
• Replenish condiments, beverages, and supplies while keeping service area clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
