Store Manager, Retail & Store Manager

Marine Layer was founded in San Francisco, CA and now has over 50 stores across the USA. We want our stores to feel like an extension of our laidback, Ca lifestyle- comfortable, welcoming and cool. We want our store teams to feel like old friends- chill, funny, and always ready for a good time.

We’re looking for a passionate leader to take on our local Marine Layer store. As the leader on the ground, you will be responsible for managing the business within your four walls. With the support of your Area + District Managers, you will execute sales strategy, ensure the team is fully staffed and scheduled with top notch talent, check all the boxes on operations and visuals, and be the representative of the ML brand in your local market.

As a growing Company, we are often implementing new processes and launching new initiatives- we are looking for someone excited to partner with HQ + leadership on these changes, as well as being the liaison to your team for these important updates.

In addition to finding someone who relates to our 7-day weekend vibes, we are looking for an Store Manager who has experience in the following areas:

  Experience:

• People Development:
  Engage with your employees individually and the team as a whole. Offer consistent and timely feedback to encourage professional growth and maintain a positive working environment.
• Leadership:
  We want someone who is passionate about keeping a team happy, engaged and challenged. You’re excited to recruit, hire and promote people who are talented and want to make our brand a success.
• Visual Merchandising:
  From monthly floorsets to daily product replenishment, our product needs to look good and sell well in our stores. It just doesn’t sell itself by sitting on a shelf...which would be cool but let’s be real. It's important for you to have a keen eye for merchandising and visual standards.
• Operations:
  As a Fleet, we strive for operational excellence. This means executing key tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and delegating day to day projects like fulfillment + zoning. Keeping your store operating smoothly helps your team have a top notch experience.
