Outside Sales Representative

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the sale of mason materials to homeowners and contractors. Conduct showroom and road sales and delivery of materials to job sites. Perform cold calls, obtain new customers and visit job sites.

• Provide customer service in the sale of the proper products
• On site sales calls and delivery of samples
• Prospecting and Lead generation in assigned territory; objection handling and negotiation; strong closing techniques
• Account Acquisition and retention
• Measure projects
• Proper use of Great Plains POS and Lead Management System (LMS)
• Facilitate scheduling deliveries with dispatch team
• Keep showroom clean
• Rotating office hours schedule based on demand
• Answer phones and make cold calls
• Provide quotations and write contracts
• Blueprint takeoff and reading
• Attend after-hours networking events and trade shows at different locations

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication skills including written, oral and presentation
• Good interpersonal skills, professional and reliable
• Able to work independently
• Goal and Quota Management
• Understanding of pricing, margins and contracts
• Ability to meet deadlines and exercise good judgment and problem solving

• Exercise good judgement and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of Excel & Word
• Ability to read a tape measure
• Must maintain a clean and valid driver’s license and be willing to travel by car to prospect’s location

• Experience with and/or knowledge of mason supplies, products and methods of use
• Sales experience and ability to cold call
• Four‑year college degree or equivalent experience preferred

70% field work and 30% office work. Working inside climbing up and down stairs. Working outside in all weather conditions. Climbing and working from ladders. Driving a company issued vehicle to calls, getting in and out of vehicle, getting materials in and out of vehicle. Potentially exposed to hazardous materials. This job also, operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, twisting, lifting and pulling. Must have the ability to lift and/or move items up to 75 pounds. This job also requires the employee to frequently work from a stationary position, sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
