Advanced Recycling Technologies is a leader in waste-to-energy, metal recycling across the US. As we continue to grow our operations, we are looking for an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to support and enhance the company's safety culture. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring programs and policies that ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, state, and local regulations.
The EHS Manager conducts safety training, audits, inspections, incident investigations, and partners closely with operations leadership to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. This role requires intermit travel to all company locations for trainings and inspections as needed.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with federal and local OSHA standards, including but not limited to:
Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Forklift certification, Machine Guarding, Respiratory Protection and PPE Programs - Maintain EPA, and state environmental compliance related to:
Stormwater management, SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control & Countermeasure), Universal waste and hazardous waste storage, Air emissions and fugitive dust control - Conduct and document regular facility inspections at all locations within the company.
- Develop and implement EHS policies tailored to all operations.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas to identify hazards.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal, stormwater runoff, and air quality monitoring.
- Help develop training for all safety SOPs, PPE use, lockout/tagout procedures, fire safety, and emergency response.
- Oversee near misses, injuries, property damage, environmental releases, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301) and ensure timely reporting of recordable events.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain records of safety audits, permits, MSDS/SDS, and environmental reports.
- Lead monthly safety meetings and participate in daily toolbox talks.
- Coach employees on safe work practices and help foster a strong safety culture.
- Prepare for and support regulatory inspections and environmental reporting.
- Conduct scheduled and surprise inspections of all departments and settings to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Ensure contractors comply with site-specific EHS rules.
- Assist with safety specifications for new equipment and process changes.
- First Aid certified.
- 5-7 years of related experience preferred
- OSHA 30 certification
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations a plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Must pass a background check and routine drug testing
Working Conditions
- Regular and consistent walking on uneven ground, standing and lifting up to 25lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Work is performed in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
