Position Overview
Financial Advocate – Westwego, LA. Job . Number of openings:
1. Hourly range: $17.00 to $19.81. This is an on‑site position.

- Conducts consultative conversations to cross‑sell opportunities such as checking accounts, personal and auto loans, credit cards, refinances, debt consolidation loans, and refers mortgage and commercial loans to appropriate departments.
- Effectively communicates information on credit union products and services and meets or exceeds referral and sales goals set by the branch.
- Understands and interprets credit reports to offer the best solutions to members.
- Processes loan documents efficiently.
- Assists with branch opening and closing procedures as needed and supports branch operations by performing administrative tasks and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Participates in training sessions and team meetings to stay informed about policies and procedures.
- Adheres to all credit union policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and security procedures, and reports any suspicious activity or potential security breaches to management.
- Completes all other duties as assigned.
Experience:
Up to 6 months of similar or related experience, including preparation in a sales and/or customer service environment.
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Interpersonal:
Professional courtesy, tact, and the ability as needed to contact customers, providing and obtaining information or instructions in routine matters.
Technical:
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of responsibility; proficiency with database software and the MS Office suite.
Physical demands:
Sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, view customer information, and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand and walk. Regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally 25 pounds.
Working conditions:
Perform work indoors in a climate‑controlled shared work area with minimal noise; read and carry out written and oral instructions; perform basic mathematical calculations; speak clearly; handle multiple and changing priorities calmly; maintain discretion on confidential matters.
