Mechanic;

Job Title

ARTCo Stevedoring is seeking an experienced mechanic.

Job Responsibilities:

• Complete tasks with minimal supervision, and act as lead on tasks as needed.
• Troubleshoot machinery with minimal assistance.
• Fill in as mechanic technician as needed.
• Notify immediate supervisor of non-operable, inadequate, or unsafe equipment or working conditions.
• Complete all required trainings.
• Report all injuries, illnesses, and near misses in a timely manner.

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, piping, electrical devices, and other equipment machinery.
• Perform repairs and service a wide variety of equipment with minimal supervision including: changing batteries/gauges/motors/pumps and performing diesel engine work (turbos, exhaust manifolds, water pumps, etc.)
• Ability to follow direction and execute tasks under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.
• Ability to give accurate repair scopes and timelines.
• Reading and writing skills sufficient to comprehend/complete a variety of documents.
• Reliable transportation to and from work and to travel between work sites as needed/requested.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule; must allow for changes in assignments, and priorities depending upon identified needs of the operations.
• Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
• Must be able to work in all types of climates.

• Must have a demonstrated history of safe work behavior and a sincere desire to follow and improve upon safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, holidays and be on-call as requested.

Physical Requirements:

• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and Company human performance exam (physical ability test)
• Standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Frequent heavy lifting.
• Prolonged periods of kneeling, bending and climbing stairs/ladders.
• Ability to work near or on large bodies of water, at various heights and in confined spaces.
