Vaco by Highspring has partnered with a rapidly growing company that is seeking a Cost Accountant to support and enhance its cost accounting function.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and enhance standard cost systems, including bills of material, routings, labor, and overhead rates
- Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and provide actionable insights to operations and finance leadership
- Support monthly close activities related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing accruals
- Prepare inventory reconciliations, reserves, and obsolescence analysis
- Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to improve cost visibility, efficiency, and profitability
- Support annual standard cost roll and periodic re-costing initiatives
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting for manufacturing costs and capital expenditures
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls related to cost accounting and inventory
- Support internal and external audits, including documentation and walkthroughs
- Participate in ERP system enhancements and continuous process improvement initiatives
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device, aerospace, precision manufacturing, or similar preferred)
- Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Net Suite, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with data analysis tools a plus
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Salary range is disclosed as required by law. Eligible for discretionary bonuses. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
