The School seeks an organized, responsible, flexible part‑time office assistant / lunch monitor to join a collegial team. The successful candidate will:
- Provide coverage for the school office for an hour a day and assist the secretary and principal as needed;
- Supervise two lunch shifts daily and two recess periods throughout the week.
Required experience:
some experience managing large groups of students. The candidate must create a positive and safe atmosphere in the cafeteria and share behavior concerns with classroom teachers and/or the building principal.
- Completion of a high school diploma (required). A bachelor's degree and previous successful work with students are highly preferred.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively if a question or problem arises.
- Ability to form and maintain positive relationships with children who may present with challenging behavior.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication skills with multiple communities (students, staff, and parents).
- Demonstrates caring and concern for all students.
- Communicates clearly and asks for assistance when needed.
- Able to problem‑solve challenging situations with support from teachers and other staff.
- Maintains a professional demeanor in all aspects of communication and work with others.
Work takes place in a fast‑paced school environment including offices, auditorium, gym, lunchroom, and recess/hallways.
Physical Requirements- Requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, and reaching as well as carrying and occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs.
