As an Energy Efficiency Consultant, you will develop and execute retrofit energy efficiency projects for Connecticut electric and natural gas customers, leading customer engagement and identifying new technologies.
Essential Functions- Develop and implement strategies to increase participation among underserved and under‑engaged customer segments.
- Identify barriers to customer adoption of energy efficiency programs and recommend solutions.
- Analyze participation trends, market data, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for program growth.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, trade allies, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Pilot and evaluate new outreach, engagement, and implementation approaches for mid‑size customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop scalable processes and best practices for emerging customer segments.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned customer segments and provide recommendations regarding program design, customer engagement strategies, and market opportunities.
- Provide direction to business partners and coordinate resources for procurement and installation of energy efficient measures.
- Review and approve moderately complex projects/programs requiring engineering analysis or energy simulation modeling.
- Manage integration of activities between customer, program administrators, consultants, and vendors.
- Develop documents and plans necessary to meet regulatory compliance for ratepayer‑funded energy efficiency programs.
- Ensure all projects and programs comply with regulatory guidelines and review documentation to confirm required materials are provided.
- Participate in budgeting, invoicing, evaluation, and tracking of expenses and energy savings; assist with RFP development for contracted services.
- Facilitate achievement of energy efficiency goals by promoting demand‑reduction initiatives to assigned customers or programs.
- Partner with energy efficiency colleagues across sectors to set implementation paths and strategy for customer participation.
- Technical Knowledge/Skill: Ability to interpret energy efficiency/renewable technologies, solid understanding of financial principles, proficiency with PC desktop applications (Microsoft Word, Excel), experience developing new programs and processes, project management in evolving environments, success identifying growth opportunities, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, experience influencing multiple stakeholder groups.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering or related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience: Three or more years of relevant experience in technical marketing, sales, project management, engineering, architecture, or energy efficiency; customer service experience desired.
