The JobWe are seeking a Life Enrichment Coordinator (LEC) in our memory care cottages at White Oak Cottages (WOC). The LEC will have a vital role in supporting residents living with dementia by bringing intentional enthusiasm, warmth, and creativity to daily programming and interactions.
The LEC is hands‑on and directly responsible for planning, leading and facilitating daily activities/programs that are meaningful, engaging and tailored to the evolving individual needs of the WOC community. This position requires a deep appreciation for the unique needs of individuals with cognitive impairment and a commitment to engaging residents with patience, flexibility, and joy.
Duties- Lead and facilitate daily personalized small and large group experiences by reviewing resident profiles and finding common needs and interests.
- Actively engage residents during programs and model enthusiasm, encouragement, and appropriate cueing with residents.
- Be physically present for scheduled activities and responsible for their execution from start to finish.
- Create monthly activity calendars for each Cottage in conjunction with the Director of Life Enrichment and the WOC Administrator.
- Work with the WOC Administrator and the Director of Life Enrichment, provide meaningful engagement training to CNAs.
- Work with outside entertainment vendors for programming and billing to help ensure invoices are received and submitted to the Director of Life Enrichment on a timely basis.
- Work within allocated budget for programming and supplies.
- Create and maintain an Activities Binder which will include the monthly calendar and a profile of each resident.
- Observe and record resident engagement using the Engagement Record and Enrichment Item Inventory tracking.
- Upon resident intake, complete the activity section of the PELI, the Enrichment Items Inventory, resident profile; and determine if any new resident enrichment items and group items should be purchased to accommodate new individual and group dynamics.
- Review Resident Engagement records weekly with the Director of Life Enrichment and Administrator to assess resident engagement and adjust activity calendar accordingly.
- Ensure the safety of all residents participating in programs both inside and outside the Cottages.
- Ensure that all activity supply areas and "self-starter" tables are kept neat, organized, and updated.
- Work with the Administrator and Director of Life Enrichment to train and provide guidance to volunteers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a high pressure and demanding work environment

- Detail‑orientated with the ability to prioritize competing demands on time.
- Exceptional computer skills, with proficiency with ALIS and Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Excel).
- Ability to work weekends, and holidays as necessary.
- High School Diploma. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Experience working with the elderly population; knowledge and sensitivity to their needs, interests and abilities.
- Experience working with the dementia population.
- Experience in planning and executing daily activities with dementia population
- Minimum of 3 years’ Activities experience in a Long-Term Care or senior living memory care environment
- Certification and/or bachelor’s degree from an accredited institute in Recreational Therapy, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, relevant field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Must move intermittently throughout the workday inside and outside the facility.
- Ability to walk distances throughout the facility.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion such as stoop, bend kneel, squat, push, pull, reach and lift and carry supplies.
