Work‑Life BalanceEversource supports work‑life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Current guidelines require employees to work at least three days in the office—Tuesdays and Wednesdays plus a third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed (e.g., emergencies, training, or other business needs).
Key Responsibilities- Lead strategic sourcing teams for gas and building services areas.
- Champion strategic sourcing practices throughout the company.
- Build strategic working relationships with key internal and external partners.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policy, procedures, and system requirements for materials, supplies, equipment, services, and major projects to achieve lowest total cost of ownership and mitigate risk.
- Review buyer analysis of market conditions, determine timing of major procurement actions, and advise users of procurement tools (Ariba, Maximo, Oracle) and market opportunities.
- Manage strategic sourcing events, bidding, and contract award processes in alignment with corporate policies and strategic sourcing practices.
- Provide direction for supplier evaluations and performance reporting.
- Oversee preparation of procurement activity reports—including purchase orders, contracts, price quotations, vendor catalogs, aging of material requests, cost‑savings and avoidance reports, and vendor performance.
- Ensure compliance with procurement general file/documentation requirements.
- Approve purchase orders, invoices, and other commercial procurement documents as appropriate.
- Coordinate investigation and reporting of complaints related to materials, supplies, services, and equipment purchases.
- Recommend and oversee training programs for procurement personnel, and provide routine performance feedback.
- Conduct benchmarking and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive supplier engagement programs (minority and woman‑owned), sustainable product use, and adherence to safety standards.
- Thorough knowledge of the Uniform Commercial Code and latest supply‑chain/procurement techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of gas or electric distribution commodities, services markets, and related industry standards.
- Understanding of major construction projects, engineering specifications, contract strategy, compliance auditing, risks, insurance matters, and contract wording.
- Utility industry knowledge strongly preferred; knowledge of sourcing for civil or facilities construction desirable.
- Process improvement methods (e.g., Six Sigma).
- Leadership and organizational development skills.
- Advanced negotiation and resourcefulness to solve complex procurement issues.
- Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking in fast‑paced environments.
- Team building and customer focus.
- Spoken and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computerized business systems and MS Office applications.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related discipline. Master’s degree in management or business highly desired.
Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience is required, including managerial, supervisory, and/or team‑leadership experience.
Licenses & Certifications- Six Sigma or similar certification preferred.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA, CT, and NH as necessary.
