• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128‑bed, full‑service, acute‑care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state‑of‑the‑art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

• The Histotechnician functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for pre‑analytical specimen preparation and processing; embedding, microtomy, and maintaining the equipment under the direction of Histology/Pathology department leadership, Pathologist, or designee.
• The position may also perform specimen grossing of surgically removed tissue under the supervision of the Pathologist.
• All duties performed will be within the guidelines set forth by regulatory and hospital guidelines to maintain, manage, and assure specimen integrity.

Job Requirements:

• Associate's degree in histotechnology, laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology, obtained from an accredited institution, OR education/training equivalent.
• ASCP or equivalent certification as a histotechnician.
• Experience with in a clinical or anatomic pathology department.

Preferred

Job Requirements:

• 6 months’ experience as a Histotechnician.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
