Wound Care And Ostomy Nurse

The rewards at Healogics are immense, starting with the important work we do to change patients' lives. We also understand that meaningful work is hard work, and we are committed to supporting and compensating our employees for the tremendous service they provide.

Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across over 600 sites. With an aging society, obesity and diabetes on the rise, and an uptick in surgical procedures, the number of patients with non-healing wounds that would benefit from expert care is dramatically increasing. As a result, the company is working to provide our differentiated, quality outcomes to as many patients that would benefit through our out-patient clinic partnerships.

The Wound Care and Ostomy Nurse will primarily provide clinical evaluation and the initial plan of care for inpatient wound and ostomy services and provide nursing support to the outpatient Wound Care Center (WCC)®, if needed. The individual in this role will provide consultation, educational, knowledge, skills and support of the bedside nurse to manage patients at risk for pressure injury development, as well as patients with wounds and/or ostomies and educational services to patients and their family members to assist them in the management of their individual wound care and ostomy needs.

The Wound Care and Ostomy Nurse will report to the Program Director of the Wound Care Center (WCC)®, as well as maintaining a dotted line reporting structure to the Senior Director of Inpatient Services with Healogics. The responsibility and accountability for day-to-day patient care will continue to rest with the individual nurse responsible for the patient, unit-based resource nurses and the Nurse Manager of each unit.

The Wound Care Nurse will also serve as a resource to the hospital regarding:
National Patient Safety Goals related to pressure-injuries. Cost effective, appropriate utilization of wound care dressings, supplies, ostomy supplies and pressure redistribution surfaces. All Healogics employees must perform their job responsibilities according to all Healogics policies, Hospital policies, as well as to accrediting organizations, federal and state regulation, and to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, as applicable.
