Position: Travel Registered Nurse NICU Job

Overview

Registered Nurse – NICU travel assignment in Westwood, New Jersey. Level II NICU, 5-bed unit, caring for neonates including 29–34 weeks.

Start date:

09/15/2026. Travel assignment lasting several weeks.

Shift: 3x12-hour nights. Weekly pay: $1,615–$1,721 per week. Guaranteed hours: none. This position requires weekend coverage and may include floating to Baby Nurse as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver direct neonatal nursing care in a Level II NICU, addressing the needs of a (1:2) patient ratio when appropriate.
  • Monitor and support respiratory status using Bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilator modes; respond to changes in respiratory status.
  • Administer medications and therapies, perform phototherapy, manage thermoregulation, and support gavage/NG/OG feedings.
  • Establish and maintain vascular access (IVs; UAC/UVC where applicable); provide line care and infection control.
  • Assist with procedures and interventions such as APGAR scoring, suctioning, surfactant administration, and family teaching.
  • Document care in the electronic charting system (Epic), coordinate with the interdisciplinary team, and communicate effectively with families.
Requirements
  • License:
    State or Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submittal (active RN license in the appropriate jurisdiction).
  • Certifications:

    BLS and NRP or NRP Advanced; STABLE certification listed in job notes.
  • Experience:

    Minimum 2 years NICU experience; travel experience preferred; previous charge experience not specified.
  • Skills:

    Strong neonatal clinical skills, ability to work in a 5-bed Level II NICU, and be eligible to float to Baby Nurse as needed.
  • Documentation:
    Epic charting experience required.
