Get to Know Your Team:

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

• The General Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for repairing, replacing, or otherwise improving items of the Hospital Facilities or equipment. Perform semi-skilled work in several crafts.
• Perform semi-skilled tasks. (Examples) repairing drywall, painting, repairing doors or other building fixtures, plumbing and electrical, and basic carpentry skills are required.
• Adjust and make repairs, “on location” to equipment and physical plant.
• Construct or reconstruct equipment and the physical plant.
• Perform a variety of small construction tasks as directed.
• Install such new equipment as directed.
• Responsible for snow removal during and after hours.
• Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
• Inspect and identify equipment or machines in need of repair.
• Perform other duties of the department, as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• A high school diploma or GED.
• 3 years in maintenance, various types of equipment, and physical plant.
• 2 years of construction experience in basic carpentry and drywall.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Proven maintenance experience.
• Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.

Preferred

Job Requirements:

• Hospital setting experience.

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
