About the Opportunity

We are partnered with a highly successful and growing company in the Hartford area that is looking to add a motivated and detail-oriented Project Accountant to their team. This is a strong opportunity to step into a visible role where your contributions will directly impact the business.

Position Overview

The Project Accountant will play a key role in supporting financial operations tied to active projects and company initiatives. This individual will work closely with accounting leadership, operations, and project managers to ensure accurate financial reporting, billing, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting functions including job costing, budgeting, billing, and revenue tracking
• Prepare and analyze project financials, including forecasts and reporting
• Monitor project costs and identify variances
• Assist with month-end close and account reconciliations
• Partner with project managers and operations to ensure financial accuracy
• Support process improvements and help streamline workflows
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Serve as a trusted resource to leadership and cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience (project accounting or construction/manufacturing a plus)
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset
