Wethersfield Public Schools is seeking a motivated and dedicated professional to serve as an Administrative Secretary III in our Central Office. The Administrative Secretary III provides high-level, strategic administrative support to the Director of Teaching and Learning, and the central office leadership team, ensuring the seamless operation of the district's centralized operations.
This role requires exceptional scheduling, communication skills, and proactive problem-solving.
The Administrative Secretary III manages complex workflows, coordinates district-wide initiatives and ensures that the central office reflects the district's commitment to professionalism and excellence.

Hours: 7 hours/day (excluding unpaid lunch)
Compensation:
Pay Grade 6: $31.68 - $39.02 per hour (based on experience & qualifications)
Essential Functions
- Provide administrative support to the Office of Teaching and Learning, including scheduling, document preparation, purchasing, and project coordination related to teaching and learning initiatives;
- Draft, edit, proofread, and distribute communications, reports, newsletters, presentations, and other district correspondence;
- Coordinate logistics and provide administrative support for district initiatives and events, including Professional Development programming, New Teacher Orientation, Kindergarten Registration and Orientation, district concerts, the District-Wide Art Show, and other special events;
- Process Professional Development Conference Request Forms, including approvals, budget tracking, spreadsheet maintenance, and invoice processing;
- Process timesheets and payroll-related documentation for programs, including the SDMS Encore Program and curriculum planning extra hours;
- Maintain organized digital and physical records, shared drives, policy documents, and confidential personnel and student information in accordance with district procedures and records retention requirements;
- Process building use requests through a software program to support the District's facility use calendar in collaboration with the WHS Athletic Department secretary;
- Assist with emergency protocols;
- Provide backup support for the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent offices and collaborate with other Central Office administrative staff to ensure continuity of operations;
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

- Ability to move a project from initial planning to completion with minimal supervision
- Ability to make independent judgments within areas of responsibility
- Attention to detail, timeliness, and accuracy in work and tasks
- Mastery of Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and/or Microsoft Office 365
- Proficiency in managing website Content Management System (CMS) platforms and professional social media accounts
- Knowledge of CT Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requirements, BOE policies, and bylaws
