Civil Engineering, Operations Manager, Site Manager
The role of Superintendent provides leadership on the job site for craft and field staff. They ensure compliance with drawings and specifications, budget, schedule, quality, and safety. Their leadership is crucial in directing operations, choosing resources, setting expectations and delivering a high-quality product to our clients.
Candidates should be capable of planning work and overseeing multiple crews in multiple areas while coordinating with subcontractors. This role is oversite of the entire project; it is not a support role.
Responsibilities- Provide on-site leadership and oversight for large-scale bridge, marine, and foundation projects, including utility coordination and temporary structure installation.
- Manage field operations, including labor, equipment, subcontractors, schedule, safety, and quality.
- Oversee daily activities including pile driving, drilled shafts, cofferdams, utility bridges, structural concrete and steel work, and marine-based construction operations.
- Coordinate and plan critical lift operations, traffic phasing, demolition, excavation, and installation of support-of-excavation (SOE) systems.
- Develop work plans and resolve technical issues in collaboration with the office staff.
- Monitor labor production rates, cost control, material quantities, and reporting requirements.
- Serve as a key liaison with clients, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure strict adherence to J.F. White's safety culture and all OSHA regulations.
- Prepare Safety Work Plans and Conduct weekly On-Site Safety Inspections
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in heavy civil, marine, and bridge construction.
- Strong knowledge of pile driving, cofferdams, structural concrete, and marine construction operations.
- Experience managing subcontractors and self-perform crews.
- Proven track record of executing high-profile infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in project scheduling, equipment planning, production tracking, and cost control.
- Familiarity with Heavy Job, Procore, and Field Wire.
- OSHA 30-Hour and Haz Woper 40
- Confined Space & Trenching Competent Person
- Critical Lift Planning, Heavy Lift, and Lift Director Certifications
- First Aid/CPR/AED
- Site Supervisor, Keolis Right of Way, and GHS Hazcom Training
- Underground Utility Safety Training
Compensation Range: $130,000-$180,000
