Special Education Teacher - Wethersfield, CT

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students near the vibrant Wethersfield, CT area and its neighboring communities. This role is designed to provide essential maternity leave coverage for the start of the  school year, running from September through October, ensuring a seamless learning experience for students during a key academic transition.

• Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher (Connecticut credentials preferred)
• Previous experience providing instruction or services to elementary-aged children with special needs
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and adaptability in dynamic school settings
• Familiarity with inclusive education practices and differentiated instructional strategies

• Delivering individualized and group instruction tailored to each student’s unique learning needs
• Creating supportive and engaging classroom environments that foster growth and independence
• Leading IEP meetings, developing appropriate goals, and tracking student progress in accordance with state and district guidelines
• Collaborating with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, families, and support staff to promote student success
• Managing classroom routines, behavioral supports, and positive reinforcement systems
• Maintaining thorough documentation and ensuring compliance with all special education requirements throughout the assignment
