Tutor Position

Highcrest Elementary School has an opening for a tutor. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with superior communication skills to provide student intervention support for the  school year.

Responsibilities:

• Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting reading individualized support
• Work directly with students to provide targeted one-on-one/small group instruction or push into classrooms
• Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement
• Support student understanding of reading concepts and demonstration of reading fluency skills
• Track and maintain records of student progress
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to communicate goals/achievements, progress, student challenges, and changes in interventions
• Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs and promotes increased reading/learning performance
• Provide building curriculum specialists with regular reports of student progress toward learning goals

Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of an Associates' Degree
• Elementary Teacher certification is preferred, but not required
• Enthusiasm for helping children
• Respectful attitude
• Ability to manage plans and drive positive results
• Patience
• Flexibility and adaptability
