Open Choice Tutor
Highcrest Elementary School has an opening for an Open Choice Tutor. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated professional with superior communication skills to provide student intervention support for the academic year. The Math Tutor will work across all grade levels (K-6) to support students with direct, targeted math intervention/instruction to promote student growth toward grade level expectations and goal mastery.
Responsibilities:
- Implement daily lesson plans for students targeting individualized support;
- Work directly with students to provide one-on-one, small group instruction or push into classrooms;
- Provide students with positive feedback and encouragement;
- Support student understanding of math concepts and demonstration of math fluency skills;
- Track and maintain records of student progress;
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to communicate goals/achievements, progress, student challenges and changes in interventions;
- Foster a positive learning environment that is sensitive to student needs that promotes increased math/learning performance.
Qualifications:
- Hold minimum of an Associate's degree;
- Elementary Teacher certification is preferred, but not required;
- Enthusiasm for helping children;
- Respectful attitude;
- Ability to manage plans and drive positive results;
- Patience;
- Flexibility and adaptability
