Position Summary

Truelove & Maclean is seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineering Manager to drive operational excellence through the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies, automation, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is focused on improving performance across all areas of manufacturing operations, including stamping, cleaning, secondary operations, inspection, assembly, and packaging.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing engineer who is energized by solving challenges and leveraging technologies such as automation, sensors, error-proofing systems, in-process inspection, data analytics, connectivity, and artificial intelligence to create measurable process improvements.

Objectives

  • Establish engineering priorities aligned with company operational objectives
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and continuous improvement
  • Partner closely with operations, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams to drive plant-wide performance improvements
  • Identify and execute initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, throughput, and cost performance throughout the facility
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and implement practical solutions to eliminate waste, reduce variation, and improve productivity
  • Lead deployment of technologies such as: automated material handling systems; vision inspection systems; sensors and machine monitoring; automated data collection systems; error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions; and in-process quality verification systems
  • Build business cases for automation investments and ensure projects deliver measurable returns
  • Lead implementation of smart factory initiatives that support long-term competitiveness and growth

Required Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Passion for emerging technologies, innovations, AI solutions, and continuous learning
  • Demonstrated success implementing process improvements with advanced manufacturing technologies or automation
  • Experience leading cross-functional improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and project management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or industry certifications in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 7+ years of manufacturing engineering, operations engineering, or continuous improvement experience
  • Experience in metal stamping, precision manufacturing, or high-volume production environments
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and applications
  • Experience with implementing sensors, robotics, automated inspection, and connected manufacturing systems
  • Experience evaluating or deploying AI solutions in manufacturing or business operations
