Computerized Tomography (CAT) Scan Technologist Summary
The Computerized Tomography (CAT) Scan Technologist is responsible for producing and evaluating CAT Scan diagnostic images as ordered by the referring physician. Performs CAT Scan exams per established policies, procedures and protocols, consistently maintaining a high level of quality and productivity. Performs quality assurance duties. Operates all relevant CAT Scan equipment and computer systems, including RIS/PACS, with proficiency. Reviews requisitions to determine proper study;
interviews patients for medical history; prepares patients for exams; administers oral and IV contrast.
- Connecticut State Radiologic License, required
- CT certification, required
- ARRT Certification, required
- CPR (BLS) certification, required
- 2+ years of CT scanning, required
- Advanced venipuncture proficiency required
