Position: Radiologic Technologist - $7,500 Sign On Bonus

We’re looking for a Radiologic Technologist to provide high‑quality imaging services and support the urgent care team at Hartford Health Care – GoHealth Urgent Care centers throughout Connecticut. The role applies ionizing radiation to deliver accurate diagnostics, manages equipment, and ensures a safe, efficient patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and analyze X‑ray services for patients of all age groups, applying proper technique and ensuring safety.
  • Position patients accurately using wheelchairs or assistive devices and protect them during imaging.
  • Conduct patient preparation: interview, verify medical history, record vital signs (blood pressure, weight, temperature) and perform point‑of‑care testing such as flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG.
  • Maintain medical records: scan charts to patient files and use electronic systems or logbooks to document each procedure.
  • Support clinic operations: inform technical staff of patient flow, assist with scheduling and follow‑up calls, and keep the center running smoothly.
  • Perform daily equipment controls, calibrations and quality‑assurance/quality‑control logs; troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets.
  • Collaborate with ordering/treating providers to determine appropriate views for accurate diagnoses.
  • Explain procedures to patients, address questions, and promote a comfortable experience.
  • Implement radiation safety protocols, follow ALARA principles, and protect staff and patients from exposure.
  • Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred (range of age groups from newborn to elderly).
Licenses & Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified at the time of hire (ARC or AHA).
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Knowledge of X‑ray procedures, anatomy, physiology, and body mechanics.
  • Knowledge of radiology equipment, safety hazards, and infection control.
  • Ability to position patients accurately, recognize equipment problems, and follow safety protocols.
  • Strong communication skills for patient care and team collaboration.
