• Assist the physician and staff with the daily coordination of patient care and physician access.
• Function as the liaison between patients, staff, and physicians.
• Maintain efficient patient flow and deliver direct patient care within the scope of licensure and in accordance with policy.
• Collect lab specimens according to departmental guidelines and accurately label specimens.
• Prioritize patient care by implementing physician orders and nursing procedures; ensure proper preparation for patient visits and prepare pertinent information needed for visits.
• Effectively communicate problems, concerns or issues to the Office Supervisor/Manager appropriately and promptly.
• Ensure all patients are correctly identified prior to providing and documenting care.
• Employ appropriate and timely use of Tasking in EHR; obtain vital signs and document in EHR; administer injections and document appropriately in EHR.
• Demonstrate telephone triage protocols and document in EHR; schedule appointments according to department guidelines.
• Adhere to universal safety precautions when administering medications and disposing of medical waste; review and update medication lists in EHR; manage prescriptions and refills.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in the Practice Management System (PMS) and EHR; provide referrals and/or consult orders in a timely manner.
• Check and maintain logs for emergency equipment; facilitate transition of care to UCC/Hospital; troubleshoot department equipment and report malfunctions promptly.

• Associates degree required;
  Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• State Nursing License and BLS certification required upon hire.
• 0–1 years of experience; 2–4 years of experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing; strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform diverse work assignments with accuracy under time constraints; strong problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills.
• Experience with standard office equipment and technology in a Windows-based environment; experience with EHR, Practice Management System and departmental/ancillary systems preferred.
• Travel ability to commute to different locations as needed.
