Barista – Steam Coffee Bar, Hartford, CT

Location:

1 State Street, Hartford, Connecticut 06102.

Schedule:

Full time;
Monday through Friday, 6:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Pay range: $17.50–$19.50 per hour. Prior barista experience preferred.

Makes and serves coffee and espresso drinks, prepares related food items, and provides friendly service. Handles food safely following HACCP guidelines and maintains a clean, organized service area.

• Prepares espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes.
• Enters orders accurately into POS device; accepts cash and charge payments.
• Replenishes condiments, beverages, and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of the service area.
• Ensures proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures; follows HACCP standards.
• Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies, and utensils.
• Ensures proper food preparation by using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards.
• Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments.
• Greets customers courteously and interacts to ensure customer satisfaction; relays concerns to supervisors.
• Serves customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays.
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and explains them accurately.
• Uses selling techniques to assist customers in their buying decisions.
• Ensures display foods are merchandised attractively per standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
