Start Date: Immediate
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off
Working Hours: 07:00–19:00
Rate: £26.00 per hour via Umbrella PAYE
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Building Services Engineer to join a busy facilities and maintenance operation at a large, high-profile commercial site in Weybridge, Surrey
.
This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced engineer looking for an immediate temporary position within a professional and well-established facilities environment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in ensuring the building and its associated services remain safe, operational and well maintained. You will be responsible for supporting both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
, responding to issues as they arise and helping to maintain high standards across the site.
This position would suit an engineer who is confident working within a commercial environment, has strong practical building services experience and is comfortable working independently as well as as part of a wider engineering and facilities team.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Commercial Building Services Engineer, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across the site in accordance with agreed schedules and procedures.
- Responding promptly and professionally to reactive maintenance requests and breakdowns.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out appropriate remedial works to building services and associated equipment.
- Ensuring plant, equipment and building services remain operational, safe and compliant.
- Completing routine inspections and identifying potential defects or maintenance requirements before they develop into larger issues.
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance tasks within your area of competence and qualification.
- Supporting the wider facilities management team with day-to-day engineering requirements.
- Recording completed maintenance activities accurately and ensuring relevant documentation is kept up to date.
- Escalating more complex technical issues where specialist assistance or further investigation is required.
- Working safely at all times and adhering to relevant health and safety procedures, site rules and company policies.
- Maintaining a professional approach when working within occupied and customer-facing areas.
- Communicating effectively with colleagues, contractors, facilities management and other site stakeholders.
- Supporting the delivery of a high-quality maintenance service across the site.
- Ensuring all work is undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, industry standards and safe working practices.

You should be suitably qualified, technically competent and able to demonstrate previous experience working within a commercial building or similar environment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Relevant engineering or building services qualifications.
- Proven experience in a commercial maintenance environment.
- Practical experience undertaking both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
- A strong understanding of building services and general facilities maintenance.
- The ability to work independently and manage day-to-day maintenance requirements effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A professional and customer-focused approach.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and respond effectively to reactive maintenance requirements.
