Position: EDUCATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Overview

The Education Program Coordinator (EPC) is the administrator and subject matter expert of the learning management system (LMS). The EPC collaborates with the SSH Nursing Professional Development team and other SSH leaders who request and oversee educational programs to deliver LMS learning. The EPC acts as the AHA Program Coordinator (TCC). In this role the Education Program Coordinator functions as the liaison between the American Heart Association and SSH to maintain compliance with AHA programs and coordinate efforts, maintaining a positive relationship at all times.

Compensation Pay Range: $32.55 – $46.55

Essential Functions
  • The Education Program Coordinator serves as the LMS subject matter expert for the health system, configuring courses, automating reports, and leading effective LMS utilization aligned with SSH’s mission, vision, and values. The role also acts as the American Heart Association Coordinator, overseeing AHA programs (BLS and ACLS), training center compliance, AHA affiliate instructors, policies, schedules, course materials, monitoring program initiatives, and maintaining records.
  • Education:

    Oversees and maintains the lending library for AHA resource books; maintains department records; supports clinical and organizational initiatives with the Nursing Professional Development team and other SSH leaders; collaborates with Human Resources to develop, build, assign and monitor annual Mandatory Education modules for the Organization.
  • Finance/Budgeting:
    Oversees supply purchases for the Nursing Professional Development Department; assists with managing the department budget and anticipating AHA resource needs; ensures reimbursement from community partners for AHA costs (e.g., electronic cards); deposits payments from community instructors using the Pass Port Onesource program.
  • Collaborative Relationships:
    Serves as a subject matter expert and consultant to management of the LMS and AHA program; addresses common user issues and creates supportive materials; develops and maintains positive relationships with SSH colleagues and Information System partners; builds relationships with Nurses, Nurse Leaders, Providers, and interdisciplinary teams to achieve strategic goals; connects with community liaisons who utilize SSH AHA Training Center privileges;

    conducts self in a professional, approachable manner.
  • Technology:
    Troubleshoots LMS and AHA technical issues; manages user permissions in LMS; creates tip sheets for end users; partners with SSH Information System colleagues to communicate about and enhance the LMS.
  • Leadership:
    Supports implementation of LMS modules and program timing; guides LMS module requests through the process; acts as a process SME in developing mandatory education with HR; mentors other AHA program leaders; participates in ad hoc projects; promotes required and lifelong learning; prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines; supports the ACNO of Professional Development and other stakeholders during regulatory visits as a subject matter expert of LMS reports;

    exercises discretion in communications; completes mandatory education on time; models and encourages goal setting and lifelong learning.
Job Requirements

Minimum Education – Preferred
High school diploma, college degree preferred

Minimum Work Experience
A minimum of 1-3 years of progressive responsibility for a learning management system and advanced computer skills.

Required additional Knowledge and Abilities

  • Proficient in typing (50-60 wpm).
  • Ability to prioritize and reprioritize work to meet organizational and divisional goals and deadlines.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the LMS and its capabilities.
  • Working knowledge of organizational job roles.
  • Promotes and supports interprofessional relationships and collaboration with all SSH colleagues.
  • Willingness to share insights to enhance the learning experience for all users.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Understands adult learning strategies, patience, and critical thinking.
Work Hours

Daytime hours. Must be flexible to the needs of the organization.
