Qualifications:
- Must be licensed with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, 9-12 (English or History license preferred)
- SEI Endorsement required
- Must hold a bachelor's degree or higher.
General Duties:
Guides and evaluates the learning experiences of students and accepts responsibility for the supervision, safety, and appropriate conduct of students within their assigned areas of responsibility, including within the school building, on school grounds, and during school-sponsored activities.
Specific Duties:
- Provides effective instruction consistent with applicable curriculum, standards, and the needs of students.
- Participates in faculty meetings, workshops, and other required professional activities.
- Provides instructional assistance to students outside the regular student day when necessary and consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Participates in curriculum planning, professional development, and other activities designed to support effective teaching and student learning.
- Maintains and prepares student records, reports, and other required documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Exercises reasonable care in the use and protection of school property, instructional materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintains appropriate records and accountability for books, supplies, materials, and equipment assigned to the classroom or the teacher.
- Performs instructional and non-instructional assignments consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Complies with School Committee policies, administrative procedures, and applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities reasonably related to the position and consistent with the collective bargaining agreement.
