Job purpose:

support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact for patients and customers and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while delivering compassionate service.

Responsibilities
  • Living our purpose by following all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
  • Following pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
  • Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone; offering immunizations and other services; and resolving patient problems
  • Completing basic inventory activities as directed by the pharmacy leadership team, such as stocking deliveries, cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories
  • Contributing to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge
  • Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs; collaborating with the team and, as needed, traveling to stores within the market
  • Understanding and complying with all applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety, privacy, and security
  • Delivering additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowed by law and supported by training and certification
Immunization Support (where permissible)
  • Completing licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status where permitted
  • Educating patients about vaccines and directing vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty
  • Monitoring for adverse reactions and reporting per public health requirements
  • Reviewing and collecting patient information and tracking for applicable patients
  • Monitoring and managing vaccine supplies
Required Qualifications
  • Must comply with any state board requirements governing practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification)
  • If not addressed by the state board: minimum age of 16; high school diploma or equivalent, or active enrollment in HS or equivalency program
  • State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state
Essential Functions
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Attention and Focus: concentrate on tasks; pivot between tasks to meet patient and business needs; confirm prescription information and labeling accuracy
  • Customer Service and Team Orientation: proactively help people; respond to patient reactions appropriately
  • Communication

    Skills:

    use verbal and written communication; practice active listening
  • Mathematical Reasoning: calculate days supply, tablets to dispense, etc.
  • Problem Resolution: handle challenging interactions and determine best course of action
  • Physical Demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, repetitive finger work, precise control, stooping, visual acuity for small parts; occasional lifting up to 20 lbs; frequent lifting up to 10 lbs
  • Express and receive detailed information through spoken and written communication
  • Any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of Pharmacy Technician experience
  • Experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs

The Typical Pay Range For This Role Is $16.00 - $27.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade; actual offer depends on experience, education, geography and other factors.
