Responsibilities- Determines appropriate radiographic technique based on anatomy and patients condition to obtain quality images for radiologists; this level may provide an advanced clinical level of patient care.
- Prepares patients for diagnostic procedures which may include transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning patients.
- Explains procedures to patients taking into consideration physical and emotional needs.
- Records digital images as directed for radiologist interpretation.
- Maintains pertinent records.
- Provides radiation protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
- May provide assistance to Radiology Technologist Students and new staff in performing radiologic exams, sterile technique, and proper stocking of supplies in radiographic rooms.
Associate's Degree Diagnostic Imaging required.
Licenses and CredentialsRequired Registered Technologist [R.T.(ARRT)] - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Required Basic Life Support [BLS Certification].
ExperienceRadiology Technician experience with multiple patient populations 2-3 years required.
