Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director of Supply Chain Management is responsible for leading end-to-end supply chain operations for a high mix, medium volume manufacturing environment. This role oversees strategic sourcing, production planning, inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, supplier performance, and customer delivery execution. The ideal candidate balances operational agility with cost control while supporting complex product configurations, fluctuating demand, and short lead-time expectations.
The Supply Chain Director partners closely with operations, engineering, sales, finance, and quality teams to ensure material availability, production continuity, and on-time customer delivery.
Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with company growth, operational efficiency, and customer service goals.
Lead purchasing, planning, inventory control, logistics, shipping/receiving, and warehouse functions.
Build scalable processes to support high product mix complexity and medium-volume production demands.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain using Lean manufacturing and ERP/MRP systems.
Establish KPIs and performance dashboards for inventory turns, supplier performance, OTD, lead times, and forecast accuracy.
Production Planning & Inventory Management Oversee master production scheduling and material planning to support changing customer demand and engineering changes.
Optimize inventory levels while minimizing stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
Coordinate demand planning and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes.
Manage capacity planning and supply continuity for critical materials and components.
Procurement & Supplier Management Develop strategic supplier relationships and negotiate pricing, contracts, and lead times.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to single-source suppliers, long lead-time materials, and global sourcing challenges.
Monitor supplier quality, delivery performance, and corrective action plans.
Lead supplier development initiatives to improve reliability and reduce cost.
Logistics & Warehouse Operations Oversee inbound and outbound logistics, freight optimization, and warehouse efficiency.
Ensure shipping and receiving operations meet customer delivery requirements and internal production schedules.
Improve warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, cycle counting, and material flow processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and customer service teams to support product launches and engineering revisions.
Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and ECO (Engineering Change Order) processes.
Collaborate with finance on inventory valuation, budgeting, and cost reduction initiatives.
Compliance & Systems Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Lead ERP/MRP system optimization and data accuracy initiatives.
Maintain strong reporting and analytics capabilities to support decision-making.
Knowledge, Skills & Experiences:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field.
8–15 years of progressive supply chain leadership experience in manufacturing.
Experience in high mix, medium volume manufacturing environments required.
Strong understanding of:
ERP/MRP systems
Production planning
Strategic sourcing
Inventory optimization
Lean manufacturing principlesS&OP processes
Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
Preferred Experience Experience in industries such as:
Industrial manufacturing
ElectronicsAPICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) preferred.
