About the Role
The Clinical Professional Development Specialist (CPDS) will lead educational and competency initiatives for the Birthing & Mother‑Infant Unit Nurses, supporting their professional growth from novice to expert. The role involves planning, coordinating, and executing educational programs, ensuring evidence‑based practices are integrated, and serving as a primary educational resource for nursing staff.
Responsibilities- Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge, skills, and competencies.
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver education programs, including orientation, transition‑to‑practice, specialty, and internal career development.
- Develop and manage competency frameworks, ensuring nurses maintain sustainable practice standards.
- Act as a clinical inquiry and evidence‑based practice (EBP) lead: translate research into learning activities and disseminate outcomes.
- Partner with inter‑professional leaders and academic programs to advance clinical education and industry trends.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to nursing staff, supporting career pathway development.
- Serve in leadership capacities: develop policies, participate in quality improvement, report to regulatory bodies, and engage in professional organizations.
- BSN in Nursing required;
Master’s degree strongly preferred. - Minimum 3‑5 years of progressively responsible nursing experience in a clinical setting.
- RN license (Massachusetts) required.
- Professional certifications preferred (BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC); instructor‑level certification in ACLS or BLS required.
- Strong adult‑learning knowledge, coaching, mentoring, and evidence‑based practice expertise.
- Excellent communication, public‑speaking, and management skills.
- Ability to analyze learning needs, track trends, and measure outcomes.
Salary Range: $ – $, commensurate with experience. Relocation assistance available.
