Position Summary:
Walmart is expanding its workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician. The role supports and oversees repair within Walmart’s Refrigeration HVAC equipment team, utilizing commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills with hand tools, digital tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
As a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician at a local retail store, you will support and oversee repair within the Walmart facilities Refrigeration HVAC equipment team and assets. Your responsibilities include maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment, managing work order systems, responding to emergency maintenance calls, inspecting and testing facilities or equipment, completing required safety training, ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations, and handling physical demands such as lifting up to 75 pounds and working at heights.
Minimum Qualifications- 10 years’ experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance
- Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience
- Type I/Type II or Universal EPA Certification for refrigerant handling
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report
- High school diploma or equivalent, aged 18 or older
- Completion of a 2‑year technical/vocational HVAC/R program or 2‑year associate’s degree in A/C and refrigeration
- Excellent driving record
- Prior work experience with glycol and CO₂ systems
- Maintain and repair Walmart facility’s refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills and tools.
- Utilize the work order management system to receive repair work orders and support stores and store associates.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
- Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
- Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations by performing work according to Walmart’s refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
- Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights.
The hourly wage range is $31.00 – $61.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location. Premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour depending on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
