Youth Advocate; Per Diem - Coastal Emergency Residence

The Youth Advocate (Per Diem) is responsible for supporting and supervising young people during daily activities in the Weymouth-based Teen Group Home.

• Driving is required
• Supervise and maintain the safety of adolescents ages 12–18 in the program
• Support youth with developing daily living skills
• Provide per diem shift coverage
• Deliver services in a culturally competent manner
• Implement as required interventions associated with treatment and service plan goals
• Participate in de-escalation and physical interventions of youth when required
• Implement and adhere to the behavioral support system of the program
• Act as a positive role model for youth and coworkers, treating them with respect, dignity, understanding and fairness

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred (not required)
• Residential experience preferred
• Experience with systems (e.g., DMH, DCF) preferred
• Additional languages desirable, though not required
• Able to learn, carry out, and be certified in CPI physical interventions and de-escalation techniques
• Able to learn, carry out, and be certified in CPR and first aid
