Location and Hours
Weston Approved Premises, Weymouth, Dorset. This role is not suitable for hybrid working. Staff work 24 hours a day, including weekend coverage, while enforcing an overnight curfew and other monitoring and reporting requirements.
Probation Services Officers lead key interventions and rehabilitative activities for a group of high‑risk offenders on release from prison. You will manage a caseload before and after sentence, assess and manage risks, and provide support to help offenders reintegrate into the community.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and manage offenders’ risk factors and support planning.
- Produce accurate, timely reports for courts and other agencies.
- Provide practical advice on housing, employment and other matters.
- Collaborate with agencies across the justice system.
- Maintain confidential case records and ensure compliance with service procedures.
- Empathy, patience and resilience in working with people with social or personal difficulties.
- Strong written communication skills, able to produce clear and concise reports to tight deadlines.
- Experience working with vulnerable or high‑risk populations is preferred.
- No degree required.
- Annual leave of 25 days, increasing to 30 days after five years of service.

You must have the legal right to work in the UK. This role is not eligible for new Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
