Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Youth Advocate to provide direct support and guidance to youth facing challenges with their mental and behavioral health. The Youth Advocate will work collaboratively with youth, staff, and other collaterals to ensure access to safety, promote resilience, and help youth achieve their goals.

What You Will Be Doing To Make a Difference
  • Driving is required
  • Supervise and maintain the safety of adolescents between the ages of 12–18 in the program
  • Support youth with developing daily living skills and interpersonal skills
  • Deliver services in a culturally competent manner
  • Implement interventions associated with treatment and service plan goals as required
  • Participate in de‑escalation and physical interventions of youth when required
  • Act as a positive role model for youth and coworkers, treating them with respect, dignity, understanding and fairness

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred (not required)
  • Residential experience preferred
  • Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF) preferred
  • Additional languages desirable, though not required
  • Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPI physical interventions, and de‑escalation techniques
  • Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPR and first aid
