What You Will Be Responsible for While in This Position:The successful candidate will be responsible to perform layout, installation, repair and maintenance of various electrical and telecommunications systems to provide power for machines, equipment, lighting and facilities in accordance with codes, regulations and safety and performs related work with other Electricians as required. This position also requires the ability to fully layout, install, maintain, and repair a wide variety of industrial electrical and telecommunication systems.
Responsible for providing maintenance and support for the uninterrupted operation of essential electrical equipment.
The low voltage electrician is responsible for performing layout, installation, repair and maintenance of various electrical and telecommunications systems to provide power for machines, equipment, lighting and facilities in accordance with codes, regulations and safety and performs related work with other electricians as required. This is an industrial electrician position.
Principal Duties:High school diploma, vocational school diploma or equivalency certificate, plus a minimum of two years of formal training in the electrical field including NEC code review classes.
Experience:At least 5 years experience in the electrical trade.
Knowledge and Abilities:Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Must have a valid local driver's license. Work will include the complete installation and maintenance of industrial electrical systems and equipment used in the industrial, commercial, surface mining, water and wastewater treatment plants and various ancillary systems. The work covers the entire electrical trade, and the employee is expected to often work independently due to the diverse nature of the work.
Ability to understand, remember and carry out oral and written instructions. Willing to attend school on job related issues during working and off hours.
