Role Description The Experienced Project Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Wheat Ridge, CO. This role is responsible for preparing detailed quantity takeoffs, developing accurate cost estimates, and preparing bid proposals for drywall and metal stud framing projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing plans and specifications, analyzing subcontractor and supplier quotes, and collaborating with project managers and field teams to validate constructability and budgets.

The estimator will work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify project scope, identify value engineering options, and support competitive bid strategies. The role also involves maintaining historical cost data, updating pricing databases, and participating in handoff meetings to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

• Strong estimating and takeoff skills, including ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and addenda.
• Proficiency with estimating software and digital tools (e.g., on-screen takeoff tools, construction estimating platforms, and Microsoft Excel).
• Solid understanding of drywall, metal stud framing, and related construction methods, materials, and installation practices.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities to develop accurate, competitive bids under deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with clients, project managers, field supervisors, and suppliers.
• Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple bids, prioritize tasks, and meet bid dates consistently.
• Experience as a construction estimator, preferably with commercial drywall/metal stud framing or similar trades.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality in all aspects of work.
• Ability to work on-site in Wheat Ridge, CO, and attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, and project handoffs as needed.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent construction estimating experience.
