Job Title:
Field Engineer - Automation and Controls
Join a dynamic team as a Field Engineer specializing in automation and controls, where you will work on innovative projects related to water resources. This role offers a blend of office and fieldwork, focusing on the design, development, and maintenance of control and automation systems.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, commission, and document small- to medium-sized measurement, control, and automation systems for water resources applications.
- Work with various systems including PLCs, data loggers, HMIs, communication equipment, and networking components.
- Gather customer requirements and provide training.
- Collaborate with a small team of engineers, technical, field, and administrative staff.
- Deliver and maintain turn‑key systems to clients primarily in the South Platte River basin.
- Engage in fieldwork upstream of the water plant and farm, focusing on source water projects.
- Conduct local travel with minimal overnight stays.
- 2-5+ years of experience with multiple brands of PLC/HMI programming packages.
- Experience with raw water infrastructure control, measurement, and telemetry equipment.
- Experience with A‑B, Siemens, VFD, and Campbell Scientific technologies.
- Understanding of pump station control and surface water infrastructure.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in electrical CAD is a plus.
- Knowledge of stream gauging stations and the US Water Measurement Manual is advantageous.
- Formal electronics training from tech school, military, or equivalent job experience is beneficial.

This is a Permanent position based out of Wheat Ridge, CO.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75,000.00 - $/yr.
