About This Role

Wheat Ridge Cyclery has been a Denver institution since 1973 — and today we're one of the biggest specialty bike retailers in the country, with three thriving locations (Wheat Ridge, Parker, and Ken Caryl) and a reputation as the premier destination for serious cyclists in the region. We're privately owned, growing fast, and looking for a General Manager who's ready to lead a ~$25M business with real autonomy.

This isn't a caretaker role. Our owner is looking for a true leader — someone who can run the day-to-day business end to end, build a strong and accountable team, and help shape where we go next as we look at further expansion. If you love developing people as much as you love a well-run P&L, we want to talk to you.

Own the business. Take full operational and financial responsibility for a multi-location retail operation, payroll, budgets, cash flow, and inventory, with the autonomy to run it and the partnership of ownership on the big calls.

• Lead the team. Directly guide store managers and department leaders across sales, service, marketing, and operations. Set the tone on the floor, coach your leaders, and build a culture where people actually want to stay.
• Drive the sales floor. Step in as the hands-on sales leader at our flagship Wheat Ridge store, and help shape what our sales leadership structure looks like as we continue to grow.
• Build for the future. Bring fresh eyes to scheduling, training, and process - and help us decide what our next location and our next org chart should look like.
• Protect what makes us different. Keep us focused on being the high-end, passionate, community-rooted bike shop our customers love - not a big-box retailer.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of retail leadership experience, ideally across multiple locations (a strong background running one large, high-volume store is great too)
• A genuine people leader - someone who leads from the floor, communicates clearly, and builds trust with a team - Solid business fundamentals: comfort with P&L, budgeting, and using data to make decisions
• A collaborative style - someone who can have a real, two-way conversation with ownership and run with a decision once it's made
• Bike industry or outdoor retail experience is a big plus, but not required - we've found great leaders can come from all kinds of backgrounds
