Position Summary

The After-Hours RN is responsible for providing overnight triage, support, and in-person care to hospice patients and families. This role focuses on managing urgent needs, providing symptom management, and supporting patients at end-of-life during overnight hours.

This position is designed to reduce the overnight burden on daytime clinical staff while ensuring timely, compassionate care for patients and families.

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Low visit volume expected, with variability
Compensation
  • Hourly base rate: $20/hour
  • Additional compensation per visit (based on visit type)

The hourly rate compensates for availability during overnight hours, while additional visit-based pay ensures meaningful compensation when in-person care is required. This creates a balanced role with steady income and the opportunity for increased earnings based on activity level.

Why This Role
  • Flexible schedule (2-4 nights per week)
  • Consistent overnight hours (no rotating shifts)
  • Combination of steady hourly pay + additional visit compensation
  • Lower overall visit volume compared to daytime roles
