Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by using technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordination of care with other health team members.

Lutheran Hospital, Wheat Ridge, Colorado
Schedule & Call Requirements
- Primary Shift: 5:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- May include responsibilities in both Pre‑Op and PACU
- Weekday and weekend call, with potential future reduction in weekday call
Essential Functions
- Assess:
Conduct appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status, integrating multidisciplinary information. - Plan:
Collaboratively develop individualized plans of care, involving patient, family, team, and physician. - Implement:
Direct interdisciplinary care team via delegation and coordination, ensuring care aligns with plan and professional standards. - Evaluate:
Review patient response to interventions, revise care as needed. - Professionalism:
Promote nursing profession, adhere to legal and ethical standards, and maintain accurate documentation.

Minimum Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- BSN degree from an accredited institution.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
- Newly licensed RNs must obtain a BSN within four years of hiring.
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need to see, read, and assess information and patient needs.
- Frequent verbal communication with patients, providers, and visitors.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment and perform documentation.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and move patients and equipment, including heavy items.
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
Hourly Range
$37.17 – $56.17 per hour, dependent on experience. Scheduled weekly hours: 36.
