Responsibilities
  • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for emergency department patients.
  • Performs health teaching, counseling, and executes delegated medical functions.
  • Refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment, and reviews/monitors therapy and treatment plans.
  • Falls asleep to on‑call duty during a regularly scheduled shift may be required.
  • Floating to other departments may be required based on business need.
  • Night shift schedule: 12‑hour shifts from 1900–0730, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week, with weekend shifts required.
  • Epic EMR used for charting.
Qualifications
  • Active CO or Compact RN license required — no pending licenses.
  • Minimum 1 year of ED nursing experience required.
  • ASN from an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Required AHA certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS — all must be active and not expire prior to start date.
  • DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration.
  • BSN is preferred but not required.
  • Former permanent staff must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment.
