Trauma Performance Improvement And Injury Prevention Coordinator
The Trauma Performance Improvement and Injury Prevention Coordinator collaborates with the Trauma Program Manager to oversee performance improvement and injury prevention activities at the facility and community. This role may involve performance improvement tasks, as well as injury prevention education and community activities in line with ACS and State requirements for Trauma Center verification/designation.

· Additional Details:
One year of licensed RN experience required. Previous emergency department nursing experience, trauma program experience and/or trauma performance improvement experience preferred.
Essential Functions
- Collaborates with the Trauma Program Manager
- Manages and coordinates performance improvement
- May oversee injury prevention activities
- May function in a single or dual role depending on the facility's trauma level
- May be responsible for injury prevention education and activities within the hospital and community
- Partners with coalitions and agencies for Trauma Center verification/designation
- Assists Trauma Program staff with performance improvement activities
- Conducts chart reviews to evaluate the quality of clinical care
- Identifies, validates, analyzes, and follows up on issues to improve clinical outcomes
- Prepares case review summaries for the Trauma Program Manager and Trauma Medical Director
- Participates in trauma committees and assists with follow-up and resolution of action items

Qualifications
- RN license in state of practice
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution (degree will be verified)
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
Preferred:
- 3 years of critical care or emergency department experience
- TNCC, ACLS, ENPC
Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs
- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
- May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts
- For roles requiring driving:
Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
