Position OverviewAs a Service Technician at Major, you will diagnose, repair, maintain, and optimize a wide range of commercial and residential HVAC systems. This role requires strong troubleshooting ability, professionalism with clients, and adherence to company standards and procedures.
You will work independently in the field while supported by an experienced operations team.
Core Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance and system inspections
- Diagnose and repair heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems
- Replace defective components and restore equipment to manufacturer standards
- Commission new equipment and verify proper system performance
- Communicate findings clearly with customers and office staff
- Document work accurately and professionally
- Follow company safety and operational procedures at all times
- Steam and Hot Water Boilers
- Chillers (air & water-cooled)
- Rooftop Units (RTUs)
- Air Handling Units (AHUs)
- Cooling Towers
- VAV Systems
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Domestic Hot Water Systems
- Pneumatic and DDC Controls
- Refrigeration Systems
- Geothermal Systems (preferred)
- Minimum 3+ years HVAC service experience
- Universal EPA Certification
- NATE Certification (preferred)
- Strong electrical and controls troubleshooting ability
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Solid understanding of refrigeration cycle and HVAC mechanical theory
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Must provide basic hand tools
- Trade school education
- Journeyman license (strongly preferred but not required)
- Commercial chiller experience
- Building automation / controls experience
