Accounting Associate

Cedarstone began in 1993 as one friend helping another establish a nonprofit. Today, Cedarstone is an international business services organization with 200+ clients (mainly Christian) that are changing the world!

As an Accounting Associate, you'll be responsible for consistently delivering accurate and timely accounting services (A/P, expense reports, and/or payroll) for a set of clients, focusing on problem-solving and proactive communication.

Core Details
  • Salary: $19 - $21/hour, depending on experience.

    Part-time, business hours Monday - Friday
  • Location:

    Hybrid: US-based, working from our headquarters in Wheaton, IL. Fully Remote:
    Allowed in the following states: AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, NC, OH, TN, TX.
Client Accounting Operations
  • Process financial transactions (A/P, A/R, and Payroll) in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Prepare and process client invoices, wire transfers, and expense reports.
  • Research and solve client problems, providing clear explanations of reports and collaborating on solutions.
  • Maintain client data and ensure all monthly tasks are tracked (e.g., using Canopy).
Client & Staff Engagement
  • Proactively communicate with clients, answering questions and providing timely follow-up on requests.
  • Meet with client operations teams and internal client relationship teams to ensure commitments are met.
  • Assist with client onboarding and provide backup coverage for teammates.
Process Improvement & Documentation
  • Document processes to ensure service continuity.
  • Collaborate with other Associates to identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Experience & Education
  • 1+ years of experience working in a business office environment.
  • 2-year or 4-year degree that includes business training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in accounts payable and payroll.
  • Experience with Quick Books Online and Excel.
