Student Desk Worker

The Student Desk Worker provides essential administrative and customer service support, ensuring the smooth operation of the department and a positive experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. They will assist with a variety of tasks, including greeting guests, answering inquiries, and managing administrative tasks.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Answer phones, respond to emails, and direct inquiries to the appropriate person or department.
  • Provide information about the department, its services, and relevant campus resources.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, data entry, photocopying, and distributing mail.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the front desk and common areas.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • May assist with special projects, events, or other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Wheaton College, maintaining good academic standing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other relevant software
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • MUST have Federal Work Study Award
  • Work schedule:

    Flexible hours based on class schedule, with an average of 4-10 hours per week between 9 am and 4:30 pm
  • Compensation: $15/hour
