COMPLIANCE ASSOCIATE Overview

As a Compliance Associate, you’ll be a vital team member who manages the ongoing renewal process of client charitable solicitation registrations (CSRs), completing filings and tracking deadlines to keep client renewals up-to-date. Fundraising requires nonprofits to be registered in individual states where donations are solicited. These registrations ensure transparency, accountability, and proper use of funds.

  • Salary: $19 - $21/hour, depending on experience.
  • Job class:
    Part-time, 20-24 hours/week
  • Location:
    • Hybrid: US-based, working from our headquarters in Wheaton, IL.
    • Fully Remote:
      Allowed in the following states: AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KS, MI, NC, OH, TN, TX. No other states or international locations will be considered at this time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Registration Management:
    Coordinate CSR and renewal processes by accurately completing filings and submitting applications on behalf of clients.
  • Renewal and Task Tracking:
    Monitor annual registration renewals and file for extensions to ensure timely compliance, ensuring steps are executed promptly.
  • Billing Oversight:
    Track services to ensure accurate client billing and records.
  • Client Communication:
    Interact with clients to gather information relating to registrations and renewal deadlines, send drafts for approval, obtain signatures.
  • State Entity Liaison:
    Communicate with state entities regarding CSRs and renewals.
  • Collaboration:

    Collaborate with team and internal departments to gather essential data and obtain required signatures by deadlines.
What You Bring
  • Experience & Education
    • 1+ years of experience working in a business office environment.
    • 2-year or 4-year degree that includes business training.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with multi-state regulatory compliance or annual reporting requirements.
    • Familiarity with nonprofit compliance requirements, including Form 990 concepts.
    • Comfort with high-volume, recurring deadline cycles.
  • Skill & Attributes

    • High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
